Yosemite1The spiritual journey is different for each of us, but in the end it comes down to the same thing: the journey from identifying with the ego/human side of ourselves to identifying with the spirit/soul.  Both sides are equally present throughout our lives, but that shift in focus makes all the difference. This morning as I sat to meditate, I gave thanks to Spirit and Sanaya for the love I feel now each day since I have come to know the greater reality and our role in it.

I reminisced about the way I used to feel for the first part of my life through childhood, adolescence, as a college student, and later as a navy officer. Back then I felt as if it was me against the world … the lone ranger. There was a cold and scary void inside that no amount of food or anything else could fill. Today, as a result of my spiritual journey, peace and joy are daily companions. I am often so filled with love that I feel as if I will overflow (and I do—in a good way).  In a burst, I knew how to describe the immense difference between then and now. It is a description you will soon see on my Facebook banner and anywhere else appropriate to share. It is one that I sincerely hope you will experience as your own Truth:  “Awakening: Going from an emptiness that can’t be filled to a fullness that can’t be contained.”
