Just for Today
There are none with whom your thoughts are more programmed
than with those most close to you—your family.
We invite you to spend a day as a stranger in their presence. What do you do when you meet someone for the
first time? You observe them. You laugh at the stories you have never
before heard. Oh yes, and then you judge
them, as most humans do, based on all of your programming. What would happen if you observed with no judgment
at all? With neutrality you would see
them as they are and as you are: human
beings who for the most part are enacting programmed behaviors.
Most of your human operating systems were programmed by
whom? By family. In this new state of non-judgmental
neutrality and higher-perspective-observation, open your heart and allow
compassion to flow. Now what do you
see? Is it worth the effort to reprogram your beliefs about those
who raise you or those with whom you now live?
For just today, try this experiment, but only if you don’t mind a little
growth.
