Adjusting

Yes, grief weighs heavily. You want to run from it, escape it entirely, but it is there when you open your eyes, the awareness that the one you mourn is truly no longer here physically. This is an adjustment period, dear one. Resisting reality lengthens that adjustment and the pain that accompanies it. Creating a new reality that includes the awareness that your loved one is not “dead and gone” will ease you into a new way of being and relating to them. Yes, by all means talk to them and hold the awareness that they hear you until you hear and feel them more clearly. They do not wish for you to sit around mired in grief. Feel the growth pains, by all means, but know they are a stage in the journey of moving forward with the two of you now in two adjoining states that require a different way of relating.

You are so very loved.
