A drip of water can “drive you crazy,” as the human often terms such things. A repetitious sound or sensation over which you have no seeming control comes into your awareness, and you allow it to take over your thoughts. What an opportunity to see how you control your thoughts, or conversely, how you allow them to control you! What if you were to make a game of that drip, drip, drip, drip? What if it became a way to practice mental focus? How long can you pay attention only to the drips to the exclusion of all else? What practice in staying present! There is much to be learned from annoyances. Have a ball! It is why you are here … to play and learn from all that comes into your awareness, most especially your thoughts. You are so very loved.
Thank you Suzanne you have made my life so wonderful
Thank you for the chuckle!! I definitely will pay more attention to those annoying things??
Just a remark on control which someone might find helpful: We can try to control thought outwardly, i. e. preventing thought from arising; or inwardly, no longer being affected or pulled along by thought as it arises in the stream of consciousness. I wish you every success for both modes!
Practice being in the moment.?
Where you see, feel and hear everything around you but you stay present in this moment.
This simple action when practiced throughout the day will enrich your life with more moments to enjoy.?
