Sleep is not just about resting the physical body. It goes far deeper than that, to the very core of you, which is a most excellent place of rest. It is the meaning of rest. From this pure center arises all activity: mental, emotional, and physical. “Give it a rest!” you say, and this is good advice. When disturbed by outer or inner circumstances, allow those vibrations to settle down from high waves to calm seas. This is what sleep allows. Yes, of course, the physical body continues ”waving,” but in a much more coherent fashion when mind and emotions give it a rest. Find the core and find peace.
