Defensiveness … a tool of self-protection, but the spirit needs no protection. Therefore, it must be of the ego, do you see? When another makes statements or takes actions which you perceive as a threat, you counter them. This is a good time to step back and examine why you feel a need to defend yourself and what you are defending. It is something you cherish, of this there is no doubt, even if it is a deep-seated belief system. But is it worth holding onto in light of your new understanding of who and what you are?
