There are layers to you. Yes, like an onion, you can peel them back, but do not set them aside. These layers make up the wholeness of who and what you are. The beauty in seeing the layers is appreciating how each makes you unique, yet at the very center of you is a core that is the same in each. It is a place of stillness from which you travel in awareness to discover what makes up this wholeness. But do not stop when you feel you have reached the outermost layers. The physical form is just the beginning. And what of the layers upon layers of non-physical being? Ah, what a flavorful onion it is! You are so very loved.
This reminds me of the socalled onion scene in the stage drama Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen. Peer Gynt peels away layer after layer of the onion and throws them away, because they are all spoiled or bad in some way. He keeps looking for the core of the onion, frustrated that he never finds it, only smaller and smaller layers.
There is always THE CORE.
Just as the thin membrane between each layer forms accordingly as each layer matures, so can you see (from that) how spirit and soul evolves.
When one imagines “good or bad” of another (or self!) one ignores the fine membrane in order to continue “addressing” the future (layer to maturity) from the limited view of the present outer layers, regardless how limited the outer layers be. Thereby, not only is the view limited, but those limitations have also been imposed from the present toward the future.
So, for example, when to others, you speak ill of someone, acting as if you know the whole story, and as if you are the righteous one who should be allowed to speak it, it is your spirit maturing an illness into the story of who you are in spirit, and it is your soul that will be continue to be stunted from revealing itself to your earthly being. The good news is – the core of you, is designed to grow, and the thin membrane of spirit that revered itself above the whole, will have to adjust to accommodate growth – regardless. The one of whom you ill-spoke is not and never was dependent on your limited view even though your limited view has had an undesirable affect upon your self. This too will demand growth.
Only some things are optional. Nature has laws that govern.
So, was it wise to speak ill in your limited view or… ???
Peel and gather, not as a complicit invader in the life of another earthly being or of one crossed-over, but as one who acknowledges and respects in the life you build within self.
It is YOUR and/or MY life that is unique… not LIFE.
This is a daily miracle that occurs every moment. Growth, grows, growing.
