Distractions abound. You may have a goal in mind and before you know it you have wandered in a different direction. Ego loves to distract you. If you were to train yourself to focus on one thing at a time and enjoy one-pointed attention, you might find that ego has been keeping you from the greatest knowing there is. Knowing arises from within. Knowing comes from a direct connection with Source which is always present, but noticeable most when you practice presence. And what is it that you know clearly when you breathe deeply and focus? I am. All else is temporary story. Peace is found beyond the story, beyond the distractions, beyond the ego.
You are so very loved.
There is a profound clarity when you find yourself in complete presence. Most often it shocks me so much that the shock knocks me out of the clarity… a complete pisser… but there it is. Not sure why that mistake happens but a different awareness has me aware it does happen almost every time. There have been times when i do get to enjoy and savour clarity, albeit comparatively brief.
I was driving today home from Tampa after visiting my brother in a NH. I have done this trip home to Daytona Beach many times. I remember seeing the sign toward Orlando, then sometime later, maybe 5 or 10 min later (I woke up?) I was on a different road off track. I ended up taking some beautiful backroads home rather than the horrific freeway. I call it my Angel drive, as clearly an Angel took over for me and put me on a different path without my full consciousness. So which path was distraction and which clarity?
