Just a simple smile. That is all it takes to light up the connection, soul to soul. Just a simple smile. That is all it takes to serve humanity. Just a simple smile. That is what will bring you out of your foxhole and find your Self again. Just a simple smile shared with another. Try it, why don’t you, instead of averting the eyes as you have learned to do. Connect. Engage with just a simple smile. It need go no farther than that to let another know and to find out for yourself … you are so very loved.

There is nothing more true. It’s magical from both ends!
I’ve always believed in this. I love when people seem really surprised when I smile (but they almost always smile back)! :) Thank you!
A couple weeks ago, the board of my son’s foundation, Grant’s Giving, voted to make “Smile like Grant” our tagline/inspirational message. This message perfectly puts into words what how meaningful a smile is. Thank you Suzanne & Sanaya! Look forward to seeing you in Akron!
I look forward to it!
This is so true! Words don’t make the connection but eye to eye contact and a smile from the heart does. I don’t know how we recognize that in each other but it seems like a soul to soul connection which has its own “words”. I had this experience last night.
When my loved one passed she said that the last thing she wanted to see in this world was my face and eyes. She chose MAID as the end of an excruciating painful cancer.
We were looking into each other’s eyes at the point of her passing. Any words from the mouth seemed irrelevant and inadequate.
How does that work?
The eyes help us to see the soul. Such a bittersweet moment, Ken.
Thank you for this, such a simple but powerful reminder of the benefits of a smile! ? ?
and it always comes back! it’s a win win and it feels good .❤️?
Ever since I was a young girl my smile is what people remember about me. It has stopped people in their tracks, and opened up opportunities for incredible conversations. I really can’t keep from smiling at everyone who crosses my path, and more times than not, find I receive a smile in return, however small or tentative it may be. Smiles light up the room and bring light to the darkness. Thank you for highlighting what an incredible gift they can be!
