Fixation. You can see the root of this word: to fix something firmly such as with a fixative like glue. Do you ever become fixated upon a thought or concept? Yes, and then what happens? The focus of the mind becomes so narrowed that you lose awareness of other things that may prove helpful. You do not hear other ways of doing things. You do not see alternative outcomes. You suffer. Why? For the mind keeps you in a highly limited state instead of flowing as part of the greater field of Awareness. How to fix this? That which is stuck is also your salvation: Remain aware when flow has stopped. “Ah, I am fixating,” you will then notice, and you simply let go of the stuckness. It is that simple, for awareness is the flow itself.
