Yes, so much is hidden in plain sight. The brain keeps you focused on certain aspects of life that fit its program, but you have existed for all time—long before you had a brain. And you will continue to exist long after it has returned to dust. Yes, forever after. What is hidden in plain sight? Your true nature. Look around you and see if you can find the spaces in between all those glittery objects that so tightly hold your attention. Here you are.
You are so very loved.
That is really interest makes me want to try harder
I have a hard time meditating my mind wonders
One of Wang Liping’s Taoist teachers taught him a technique to focus during meditation, and to prevent the mind from wandering, reported in the book Opening the Dragon Gate. He tells him to use the Judgement to maintain focus: when a stray thought enters your mind, immediately declare mentally, depending on the thought: “This thought is right”, or “This thought is wrong”, or “This thought goes only as far as here”, and silence it. He suggests that over time this process becomes more automatic, allowing a greater focus of mind in meditation.
Between something i heard today and Sanaya’s last few posts, i am reminded of how shocked humans are once they realize how very much they know but don’t BELIEVE. Yet everyone’s afterlife seems a mystery to them, equally as much as the awareness if their own spiritual life, in a carnal body… so yes if course also of the spiritual lives of others around them in body or in spirit.
That whole thing about only believing “what they see” is such a crick if poopoo. The bodies we live in are doing all kinds of things we cant see but the body does it anyway. . You cant say it had nothing to do with you!!! You feed it, excercise it, and use it. Same with your spirit and soul. You feed it, excercise it, and use it. Same with the souks of “the departed” … you feed them, vice versa, you exercise with them and you need to use each other to gain and retain deeper understandings.
How can we possibly believe “its all just us living a singular life in this singular planet”? We KNOW that’s not the case. So why do we simply not believe? What the heck IS THAT?
Personally about a year ago I’ve started being extremely selective of anything I can’t verify. Rather than believing or not, I keep this whole lot of informations in my Large Bag of Mixed Knowledge, until I can verify it for myself or until I find more evidence that either proves or disproves it. This is essentially because even spirits don’t have all the informations, even spirits can be deceitful or deceived and therefore give, intentionally or not, false or misleading informations – for example, Frederic Myers specifies, in the 1933 book written through medium Geraldine Cummings, that he is “but a fallible shade”, and Robert Monroe’s INSPEC friend says they don’t have all the informations.
The truth is, last year I realized how many beliefs about the spiritual reality are really just houses of cards ready to collapse, and I’m no longer comfortable treading that ground. That’s why I stick to what’s solid now, which is a lot less.
Hey Frederico, thank you for your reply. You bring up a point that is the thing for me which is about, that “verification” … IT still has lots of room for “error”, “incompleteness”, misunderstandings etc. We can prove lots of things are real: we can prove that but we cannot prove how long they will be real as we see proof of it now. Everything changes, decays, alters, …and ends up where to become what???? We cant always see 100% of that process (or those processes,) yet we know that as fact; we trust that as fact: we constantly learn more facts about the processes BUT the processes go on whether or not we see them or whether we attempt to ignore them.
Everything has its own life …EVERY single thing. THERE IS NOTHING you need to analyse to know life exists in everything. For a somewhat odd example: as a boy, did you not find a rock you particularily loved? (A rock that resonated with you) And you kept it with you and tried to keep track of it. Then one day it dissapeared, no matter how careful you had been with it. You didn’t think that would happen but the real you knew that someday it would happen. That is knowing. You didnt need to judge it, measure it, show it off, …it just was and would be what it needed to be as long as you needed it to be and poof – it was gone. Did it exist? Does it still exist? The answers that you do not know, IS a knowing you can trust in. It does not depend on our judgements.
