What does it mean to be “in your own little world?” You are part of something so vast that the human mind cannot wrap its head around it. And so, you use attention to focus outward and inward like the lens of a camera. At times you narrow the focus so much that you are not aware of others around you. You fail to engage those in your very presence, so focused are you on your particular experience. This is a kind of safety valve to avoid overwhelm. Widen the lens a bit now and then and participate in relationships. If you had wanted to be alone, you would not have created this experience you call your life. Play with the lens and come to know you are so very loved.
You nailed me with this one! For decades, on and off throughout my life, i’d found myself both lonely and lonesome …not unhappy 🙂 but yea, depressed because being alone in so many ways for so many things is without doubt, well…🥴
During this time however, i am finally getting caught up with things i never took the time for. Gosh did i ever need a lot of time!!! I’m learning some “earthly” things that always ‘took a back seat’. I dont know how others get so smart with so little time but… i wasn’t one of those, never having been the formal-scholarly-type. Now finally I get what fascinated them. Lol. Yup… it took me a lot of decades. But it’s all good. I am catching up. (Slowly – ’cause I am still very scatter-brained, easily distracted). Maybe soon I will be able to ‘recite’ the entire Lord’s Prayer without meandering off on something it tweaked in me. What a life!!! Zoom!
