When what you call “disaster” strikes, take a step back. One moment before, you believed that all was well. What has changed? Your thoughts, your experience. What was the same in both moments? An underlying state of awareness, of existence without thoughts, without “noise.” Find this space, this state, when what you label “disaster” strikes, and use it as your anchor. That which never changes you may label “peace.”
You are so very loved.

Anchor lowered, disaster struck, aftermath remains. Pull up anchor. Set the sail. Hold the rudder. Sail on.
This happened to me this past weekend and I lost complete control over myself. I lost my anchor. It literally disappeared right out of my hands! It is still bugging me so much that I am dreaming about it. Sigh.
